Hampton has three (3) governing corporations
Ballots
Each governing corporation has a seperate "Ballot" (Warrant).
Each "Ballot" (Warrant) contains "Questions" (Warrant Articles). Typically the first Warrant Article contains candidates for each open seat.
Processing the Warrants
The Warrant Article containing the candidates is created by the Clerk.
All other Warrant Articles are created either by a "governing body" or by Citizen Petition.
Once Warrant Articles are created, they then are taken to two (2) Sessions. The "Deliberative" session (Session I), where voters can discuss and potentially change, with some exceptions and limitations, the Warrant Articles. The Warrant Articles are then taken, as modified, to the "Election" (Session II) for a final vote.
